Shareaza is a multi-networking file sharing application. Contrary to most file sharing programs, Shareaza is not limited to a specific network (torrent, edonkey, etc.) but in fact, is able to connect to eDonkey2000, Gnutella, BitTorrent, and Gnutella2. These are four well known file sharing networks. Also, contrary to other file sharing programs claiming to be multi-network, Shareaza is a stable and easy-to-use application. It really does what it promises.
Shareaza is very user friendly. On installation you are asked some questions about your Internet connection, and then the program connects itself to as many networks as possible. All you have to do is type in the search expression and wait. Shareaza will find what your are looking for. Just wait while it gets all the data from multiple users around the World.
Notice, however, that if you are looking for a very advanced and network specific control of your application, you may be somehow disappointed. Shareaza has a basic and an advanced mode, allowing advanced users to adjust more settings. Nevertheless, there are some (few) aspects that only a specialized application will allow.
Some of its particular features are graphic statistic of traffic, an embedded preview option, categories for your downloads, and the possibility to grab links from Internet while you surf, with all the information about a specific download. You can even let Shareaza manage all your file downloads.
In conclusion, if you want to use several networks to do your file sharing, Shareaza is practically unrivaled.
This new version does not present big changes, but literally thousands of small optimizations and bug fixes. Always keep in mind legal aspects of file sharing when using this application. |
